About Kauai
Kauai is Hawaii's northernmost main island, the 'Garden Isle' — older, lusher and quieter than Oahu, with surf zones split sharply by exposure. North Shore (Hanalei → Haena) fires Nov–Mar on NW groundswell: Hanalei Bay's three-mile arc is a longboard cathedral, while Tunnels and Cannons hold heavier reef days. South Shore's Poipu cluster (Acid Drop / Centers / Brennecke's / Shipwrecks) is the summer S-swell home. East Side gets trade-wind consistency year-round, and West Side's PK's, Kekaha and Polihale wrap S swell back up the coast. Water 24-27 °C year-round — boardshorts territory.
