About this role

Build the WeWave mobile app used by surfers across Bali and beyond. You will own the full mobile experience from forecast views to real-time surf reports.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the React Native app for iOS and Android
  • Implement smooth, performant UI following our design system
  • Integrate REST APIs for forecast data, reports, and user accounts
  • Collaborate with the backend team on API contracts
  • Ship iterative releases with a focus on reliability

Requirements

  • 2+ years React Native or equivalent mobile experience
  • Strong TypeScript skills

  • Comfortable working async in a distributed team

About this role

WeWave needs a certified meteorologist (kishoyohoshi) to support our Japan expansion. Help us deliver accurate, regulation-compliant wave forecasts to Japanese surfers.

Responsibilities

  • Review and supervise wave forecast outputs for Japan regions
  • Advise on forecast methodology and data source selection
  • Support JMA licensing requirements for forecast services
  • Provide input on typhoon and swell event forecasting
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on model improvements

Requirements

  • Certified Meteorologist (kishoyohoshi) license in Japan
  • Understanding of wave and swell dynamics
  • Ability to review forecast data and provide expert guidance
  • Comfortable with advisory / part-time engagement
