Sanya Coast

Hainan's south-facing resort coast and the country's beginner-mecca. Houhai Bay is the heart of Chinese surf instruction — dozens of schools cluster on a gentle bay that works year-round on small S swell. Wuzhizhou is the offshore island spot; Tengjiao quieter to the north. Sanya proper hosts Dadonghai and Yalong Bay, more resort lineups that fire on bigger typhoon S swell. Water is the warmest in China (24-29°C) — pure boardshort territory.
