Outer Banks Northern

The northern half of the Outer Banks runs from Corolla south through Duck, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head — a near-continuous strip of beach piers facing east-northeast into the Atlantic. Best on Sep–Nov hurricane swell wrapping in from the Bermuda area and Nor'easter wind swell through winter; W-side offshore winds from the mainland keep the lineup clean.
